The productAuthors

Your authors stop writing to ask how it is going.

Each author signs in and sees their sales, their statements and their contract without having to ask for them. What is now twenty emails asking how the book is doing becomes a tab, and the relationship stops being spent on admin.

01

What is in it

The author's dashboard
Their books, their sales by channel and their statements in detail. Your brand, your domain: it is your publishing house, not ours.
Inbox
Conversations with each author in one place, with their history, rather than spread across three mailboxes and a phone.
Author website
One site per author, published under your domain, which they maintain themselves without going through you.
Training and community
Courses, materials and a shared space. Keeping an author costs considerably less than finding the next one.
Writing tools
Bio, blurb, press kit and brand copy, assisted and in the author's voice, not a model's.
Copies
Complimentary and contractual copies, counted: how many they are owed and how many they have already had.

The vocabulary

Royalty statement
The account rendered to the author each period: what sold, at what rate, what is owed and what is being paid.
Advance
Money paid up front against future royalties. Until it is earned out, royalties are set against it.
Complimentary copies
The copies the contract grants the author free of charge. Having them counted avoids the awkward conversation two years from now.
Rights granted
Exactly what you acquired: formats, territories and term. What was not granted is not yours to sell.

Fourteen days to test it with your own books.

Upload a manuscript and let it read. Import twenty books. Produce a royalty statement. That will tell you.
