The productSelection
A manuscript that arrives today gets read today.
Every manuscript that comes through your form is read whole — not the first twenty pages — and comes back with a score per dimension, the quote from the text behind each judgement, and a recommendation. The decision stays yours: when the analysis is unsure, it says so and the work lands on an editor's desk. That is the design, not the flaw.
Contents
01What is in it
- Submission form
- Your brand, your domain. You choose the fields: genre, length, whether the picture book comes illustrated, whatever you need to ask before reading.
- The whole manuscript, analysed
- Eleven minutes on average for a 48,000-word manuscript. A score per dimension, the evidence quoted, and the confidence the system declares in each judgement.
- Reader's report
- The report you currently commission outside, written in your publishing house's voice. Basic or extended, as a typeset PDF carrying your brand.
- A work plan for the author
- Where to focus, and in what order. It is what turns a «no» into a «not yet» without losing the author.
- Your editorial judgement
- Your red lines and the weight you give each dimension. It learns from the decisions you make, not from an average taste.
- Follow-up
- A manuscript worth another pass is not lost: it stays under follow-up, with its deadline and its way back in when the author returns.
The scene
02Inside an analysis
Sample data. What matters is the shape: every score with its quote, and the reason for review written down, not hinted at.

From the text
“The lighthouse had been dark for nine years and still she climbed it every night, just in case.”
Why it goes to review
High variance between the two readings on Market. The voice is sure of itself; the commercial fit is arguable.
The trade
03The vocabulary
- Dimension
- Each axis scored separately: writing, structure, originality, character, market. A single overall score does not tell you where to intervene.
- Evidence
- The literal quote from the manuscript behind a judgement. Without the quote, a judgement is just an opinion.
- Variance
- The gap between two readings of the same text. High variance means the text is arguable, and that sends it to human review rather than to the reject pile.
- Red line
- Content your publishing house does not publish. It gets flagged and you decide; it does not stop the analysis, because deciding requires having read.
